Jennifer Horowitz Interview Part 2

Jennifer Horowitz and I just got off the phone from round two of frequently asked SEO questions along with dispelling some myths about SEO. If your questions didn’t get answered last week, there’s a chance we got to them this week. Please keep them coming, too! We truly enjoy discussing SEO and helping you grow your business. It’s fun to us even though that may seem a bit “touched” to you. ;)

Among the topics of discussion today:
1. Of the well-known SEO “gurus,” who are you NOT likely to pay attention to? (submitted by Amber from Wichita)
2. If you’ve done 6 months of SEO for a site and yet there haven’t been any improvements, how would you go about diagnosing the problem? (submitted by Carey from Phoenix)
3. Search engines seem to take measures to ensure no one cheats by making their page “too optimized.” Are search engines anti-SEO? (submitted by Scott from Fresno)
4. Common myths of SEO including: PPC ads help/hurt your organic rankings, submitting to local search is a waste of time, and you can avoid the “Google slap” with a high ranking organic site.

We also talked about easy ways to get your site discovered by search engines and some white hat tactics that can be misconstrued as “black hat.”

There are full explanations of the things we discussed so no matter how far along you are in your SEO endeavors, you’ll get a lot of value out of today’s interview.

Would you please share your thoughts, comments and suggestions after you listen to the entire interview? What do you think … should we do more of these sessions? If so, what type of stuff do you want to hear us explore?
