Comment on SEO Case Study: Tego Venturi by Roger

Rick,
Generally speaking, SEO results start to show after 3-6 months of going at it consistently. You'll need to build links and continue to add relevant content to your site, but links are most important in the beginning to get discovered, indexed and climb the ranks.

Think bigger picture ... what is being offered currently to your ideal prospects that you could tie into nicely? In other words, who already has an audience with the prospects you'd like to reach and what are they looking for that you could provide to them that could get your foot into the door? The reason I ask is because a lot of people think SEO is the "silver bullet" to magically grow sales yet get disappointed because their profits don't grow when new traffic hits the site.

Obviously, I believe heavily in SEO but more as a part of a strategic marketing program versus a quick fix tactic.

Thanks for posting, and please let me know if I can help you further.

I gotta say, this has my curiosity up. No real methods of SEO revealed, but Tego is clearly a success. He said don't give up too quickly, but what does that mean? Should I expect results in one week, or one month, or one year, or ???
Like Real Estate, my profession is a highly competitive one. HOwever mine doesn't require a license, and has exploded with part-timers in the past 5 years. My competition are undercutting each other, and providing an inferior product. I need all the help I can get.

Mike,
Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts. Glad you got some value out of the post.

To answer your question, Eau Claire is part of a prospecting effort that includes a set of similarly sized cities & towns based on the latest MSA data. I doubt I could handle every city in the nation right now. ;)

Hello-

Thanks for the informative post! I'm a realtor in Eau Claire, Wisconsin currently holding positions #4 and #7 for these searches. It is interesting to note that I could be getting 7x-13x more traffic by being #1.

Did you just Choose Eau Claire randomly, or do you target content for every city in the nation? Just curious. Thanks again for the info!

Visitor statistics that show the stickiness of web pages are indicative to the issue whether content is relevant to a search.

These statistics should strongly figure in the indexing algorithmes of search engines and take precedence over link popularity.

Micah,
Thanks for checking it all out. I'm not trying to overwhelm anyone, but there are so many markets I'd like to pursue and a wealth of information to share in the process so I'm burning the midnight oil before the NCAA Tournament begins. :)

What would you like to see more of on here?
